Regulations of the PwC Startup Challenge Vivatech 2026
Article 1 Purpose
The next decade will be defined by “value in motion”—a period where advanced technologies, climate imperatives, and evolving business models will reconfigure industry value chains and create new growth domains. Organizations that continuously reinvent their business, operating, and energy models will be best positioned to capture emerging value pools and outperform competitors.
In this context, PricewaterhouseCoopers Advisory, a société par actions simplifiée, incorporated under the laws of France, having its registered office at 63, rue de Villiers, 92200 Neuilly-sur-Seine (France), registered with the Trade and Companies Register under number 338 112 733 (the "Organizer" or "PwC"), organizes, within the organization of the Viva Technology Paris event, which takes place from June 17th, 2026 to June 20th, 2026 (“VivaTech event 2026”), the Challenge "Reinvent Operations: Over boost your operations capabilities with innovation" (the "Challenge") with the aim of identifying innovative solutions in the following 5 areas:
• Optimize operations o Product development time to market optimization and disruptive innovation enablement o Improvement of manufacturing and logistic efficiency, cost, quality o Process automation, e.g. robotics, intelligent orchestration
• Strengthen resilience o Disruption forecasting, flow optimization, real-time visibility o Risk anticipation, Cyber, flexibility, …
• Accelerate digitalization & Data & Insights for Performance o AI, automation, data-driven decision-making
o Predictive analytics, real-time dashboards, applied generative AI
• Embed sustainability into operational processes o Solutions to reduce carbon footprint, optimize energy or water consumption
• Adapt to new challenge with agility o Shift business focus and enable augmented workforce efficiency
These regulations (the "Regulations") define the terms and conditions of participation in the Challenge. They are available on the dedicated Challenge website at the following address: https://challenges-awards.vivatech.com/challenges/pwc-2026 (“the Website”)
Article 2 Conditions of Participation
The Challenge is open to all start-ups, whether French or foreign, as long as they are registered in their country of establishment. Such start-up shall provide an innovative solution or technology helping companies to improve, transform and reimagine how they create, deliver and capture value to become future proof ("the Candidate"). No candidate having any kind of relationship with the Organizer and/or a member of the Final Jury shall be able to participate in the Challenge.
Each Candidate must register for the Challenge on the Website from around 9th of February 2026 until March 23rd, 2026, at 11:59 pm (Paris time) by:
• Completing the registration form available on the Website,
• Answering the common questions on the Website, a copy of such common questions being attached in Appendix A of the Regulations as well as the following questions:
o Which types of clients the solution targets? o Could you please share a pitch deck of your solution? o Could you share a demo showcasing your solution? o Why do you think your solution is relevant for the category you are applying for? o How would you integrate the ethical, societal and environmental impacts within your solution?
o How do you integrate diversity and inclusion?
• Submitting, via the Website, a pdf presentation explaining how your solution contributes to reinvent operations for Corporation and help CxO improve their operations at large (e.g. product development, industrialization, manufacturing, procurement, supply chain…)
Only one application shall be filed with respect to a relevant Candidate. In case of multiple applications relating to the same Candidate, only one application will be taken into account by the Organizer.
Participation in the Challenge is free of charge. Travel, accommodation, and meal expenses of any kind are not covered by the Organizer and will be borne solely by the Candidate.
Each Candidate shall provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information when registering. Failure to do so may result in the candidate's exclusion by the Organizer without any compensation. By registering for the Challenge, each Candidate (i) declares that they have read and accepted without reservation or restriction the Regulations, and (ii) guarantees that their solution technology/solution does not infringe upon the rights, including intellectual property rights, of any third party.
The Organizer shall keep confidential all financial data information provided by the Candidates, unless the Candidate has made them public.
Article 3 Conduct of the Challenge
The Challenge shall take place in two phases:
• A pre-selection phase, from March 24th, 2026, to April 13th, 2026, by the pre-selection jury, appointed by the Organizer, composed as follows: (i) the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Managers, Ms. Chloé Martin, and (ii) the Startups Ecosystem Director, Mr. Thierry Picq (the "Pre-selection Jury"). In the event of the unavailability of any member of the Pre-selection Jury for any reason, the Organizer will appoint a new member.
• A selection phase, on April 14th, 2026, by the Final Jury composed as follows: o For the Organizer:

o For SAP, Head of Transformation, Ms Katrin Redmann o For MBDA, Director Innovation and futur technology, Mr. Denis Gardin o For Naval Group, Product Line Director, Mr. Simon Payet.
o For Novo Nordisk, Finished Product Operations Vice-President, M. Aurélien Levallet o For Orange Wholesale, Chief Data & AI Officer, M. Paul-Antoine Nguyen o For Veolia, Directeur Efficacité Opérationnelle et Digital France, M. Grégory Clochet o For Fabriq, CEO, Mr. Jean-Baptiste Dumont (“the Final Jury”).
In the event of the unavailability of any member of the Final Jury representing the Organizer, the Organizer shall appoint a new member of the Final Jury. In the event of the unavailability of any member of the Final Jury representing one of the abovementioned companies, the Organizer shall appoint a new member in consultation with the relevant company.
Neither the Pre-selection Jury nor the Final Jury is required to justify their decision, which is final and not subject to appeal. Consequently, neither their responsibility nor that of the Organizer can be engaged by the Candidate not selected as a Finalist or Winner.
3.1 Pre-selection Phase
The role of the Pre-selection Jury is to evaluate the Candidates' propositions according to the following criteria to pre-qualify up to fifteen (15) finalists (the "Finalists"):
• Value proposition: The Candidate's value proposition should fit at least one of the five (5) areas of the Challenge
• Regulation compliance and security by design are key components to be able to fit in the Candidate's organization and must be at the heart of the solution.
• The business potential with PwC business lines and/or with PwC clients' issues.
• Geography: the solution technology/solution value proposition should be implemented in EMEA (Europe Middle East & Africa) and in USA (United States of America).
• Maturity: post-MVP (Minimum Viable Product) stage to growth and scale-up with at least two (2) existing clients in their portfolio.
• Technology: Deep tech and low tech will be considered.
• The potential to operate at a global scale.
The Organizer shall notify
• each Finalist by email of the Pre-selection Jury's decision, as well as the time at which each Finalist will present their solution technology/solution to the Final Jury, noting that all oral presentations will take place on April the 14th, 2026 at PwC Experience Center, 11 rue de Milan, 75009 Paris,
• via the Website, any non-Finalist Candidate of the Pre-selection Jury's decision.
3.2 Selection phase
The Finalists shall:
• comply with the presentation time communicated by the Organizer in accordance with Article 3.1 above, with the Organizer reserving the right to exclude any Finalist who does not respect their presentation date and time,
• present their solution technology/solution in person to the Final Jury in the form of a presentation lasting a maximum of 10 minutes, accompanied by any document/presentation of their choice (non-exhaustive examples: PowerPoint presentation, image, video with or without sound, etc.).
The role of the Final Jury is to evaluate each Finalist's presentation according to the following criteria in order to select up to three (3) winners (the "Winner"):
• Value proposition: The Finalist's value proposition should fit at least one of the five (5) areas of the Challenge
• Regulation compliance and security by design are key components to be able to fit in the Finalist's organization and must be at the heart of the solution.
• The business potential with PwC business lines and/or with PwC clients' issues.
• Geography: the solution technology/solution value proposition should be implemented in EMEA (Europe Middle East & Africa) and in USA (United States of America).
• Maturity: post-MVP (Minimum Viable Product) stage to growth and scale-up with at least two (2) existing clients in their portfolio.

Article 4 Announcement of Winners and Awarding of Prizes
The Organizer will announce the Final Jury's decision to each Winner by email on April 20th, 2026, also communicating the prize- awarding procedures that each Winner must follow. Otherwise, the Winner will lose the benefit of their prize without being entitled to any compensation.
Each Winner will receive the following prizes awarded by the Organizer on June 11th, 2026, at PwC office (Neuilly or Paris)
• Opportunity to exhibit within PwC Booth (1 day), or attend a business session with potential customers (speed meetings) at VivaTech event 2026 (both options are not definitely granted and will be confirmed early June 2026)
• Potential participation to a talk with a PwC's client and a PwC's expert during VivaTech event 2026.
• Three (3) days with PwC consulting experts to brainstorm and challenge either the business model, the product market fit, and the delivery model of the Winner (if applicable depending of the maturity and the nature of the product).
The prizes, which are personal and non-transferable, cannot be contested, redeemed for cash, or otherwise exchanged.
Article 5 Image Rights
By accepting these Regulations, each Winner authorizes the Organizer, free of charge, for a maximum period of fifteen (15) months from the announcement of the Winners, to use/reproduce/exploit their photo, audio and/or video recording made during the presentation to the Final Jury and/or during the awarding of prizes, and to reproduce them in whole or in part on the following channels/platforms: the Organizer's stand at the VivaTech event 2026, the Organizer's intranet, internal publications such as PwC News, the PwC institutional website, social networks from an account of a French entity member of the international PwC network, and to mention their names and a description of their solution technology/solution.
Article 6 Personal Data
The Organizer, as a Data Controller, shall process the personal data of each Candidate in accordance with the legal and regulatory provisions in force relating to data protection, in particular Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data (the " GDPR "), as well as Law No. 78-17 of January 6, 1978, in its latest version in force.
Capitalized terms in this section have the same meaning as in the GDPR, except for terms that are defined herein. All personal data processed are hereinafter referred to together as the "Data".
To pursue its legitimate interest in organizing the Challenge on the Vivatech Platform, the Organizer processes the personal data of the Candidates for the duration of the Challenge: name, first name, email address, company name, video recordings, photos.
The Organizer shall delete the Data fifteen (15) months after the end of the VivaTech event 2026.
This Data is adequate, relevant, and necessary for the purposes listed below:
• Validating Candidates' registration for the Challenge;
• Examining Challenge applications;
• Communicating about the Challenge via the communication channels mentioned in Article 5,
• Organizing filmed presentations of the Participants in order for them to present their project in relation to the theme of the Challenge;
• Informing any Candidate of their pre-selection or their non Pre-selection, by the Pre-selection Jury as a Finalist;
• Informing any Finalist that they have been designated a Winner by the Final Jury;
• Enable the Challenge Candidates and PwC to promote the Challenge during VivaTech event 2026 and beyond.
Each Candidate can exercise their rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, and restriction of the processing of their data via the following form: https://www.pwc.fr/fr/legal/reclamations.html.
Candidates can also lodge a complaint with the “Commission Nationale de l’Informatique et des Libertés” (CNIL).
Article 7 Liability
The Organizer cannot be held responsible for any damage, direct or indirect, claimed by a Candidate for any reason whatsoever, including in cases of force majeure, cancellation, suspension of the Challenge, modification of these Regulations, exclusion of any Candidate who does not comply with these Regulations, without this list being exhaustive.
The Website is owned and operated by MSL France, a joint-stock company with capital of 182,400 Euros, having its registered office at 30-34 rue du Chemin Vert, 75011 Paris registered in Paris Trade and Companies Register with number 347 895 096 RCS Paris, acting as manager of the partnership formed between MSL France and Les Echos Solutions, a company having its registered office at 10, boulevard de Grenelle 75015 Paris registered in Paris Trade and companies Register with number 408 165 157. As a consequence, the Organizer, which neither controls nor operates the Website, cannot be held responsible for any direct or indirect loss or damage resulting therefrom, particularly in the event of its unavailability for any reason whatsoever.
Article 8 Partial Nullity
If any clause of these Regulations is declared null or unenforceable, in whole or in part, under the law, that clause will be deemed null, and such nullity or unenforceability will not affect the other clauses of the Regulations.
Article 9 Applicable Law – Competent Court
These Regulations are subject to French law. Any dispute relating to these Regulations will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the French courts. Any notification relating to a dispute shall be sent to the Organizer's registered office identified at the head of these Regulations.
